About Annica
Annica Larsdotter is an AHPRA-registered chiropractor based in Cygnet, Tasmania. Originally from Sweden, she came to chiropractic through her own experience — a skiing accident in her late teens introduced her to the profession, and it has been central to her life ever since. She graduated from the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in 1999.
Her career has taken her across the UK, New Zealand, and Australia. She worked in associateships focused on SOT and AK, ran her own practice in the UK, joined the teaching faculty at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic in Auckland, and later built a paediatric-focused practice in semi-rural Dural outside Sydney — which she ran for nearly a decade before selling in 2020. She moved to the Huon Valley that year, and returned to clinical practice in August 2023.
How Annica works
Annica takes time to listen, assess properly, and explain what she finds — in the context of what is current or stressful in your life. She believes that understanding what your body is adapting to, or maladapting to, is as important as the hands-on care itself. Her goal is for you to leave each visit understanding more about your own health, and how to maintain or build on that between appointments.
Her approach draws on low-force manual adjustments, specific neuro-musculoskeletal assessments, soft tissue work, mobilisation, and practical lifestyle support — selected based on your situation and presentation, and supported by available evidence and clinical experience.
Annica mainly practises low-force techniques such as SOT and NOT, and has experience in diversified manual work, toggle, AK, NET, and Thompson drop. There is always a way for everyone to be adjusted in a safe, specific, and appropriate way.

Collaborative care
Annica collaborates with the local GPs and allied health practitioners in the Huon Valley. She also consults alongside the GP team at Gore Street Medical in Hobart on Wednesdays. This team-based model reflects current evidence-based guidelines for managing musculoskeletal conditions — particularly chronic or complex presentations that benefit from coordinated care across disciplines.
Whether you are a patient at Gore Street Medical or at Evolve Chiropractic in Cygnet, Annica works collaboratively with your GP and other providers. If your condition would benefit from imaging, further investigation, or a different type of care, she will communicate directly with your treating team.
If you have a chronic musculoskeletal condition, your GP may be able to set up a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) plan, which can provide up to five Medicare-subsidised allied health visits per calendar year — including chiropractic. Ask your GP whether this applies to your situation, or see our FAQ for more detail.
Why this work matters
Annica finds this work rewarding because of the small, practical difference it can make. Helping someone understand why their back seizes up every few months, or giving them a few exercises that actually make sense for their life -- those are the moments that matter. It is not dramatic. It is just useful, careful work.
Your journey with us
We think of the care process a bit like origami — something flat and uncertain gradually takes shape. Each stage of your journey with us has a different focus:
Rock
Safety and clarity. We explain exactly what happens next.
Boat
Guided care. We navigate your recovery together.
Swan
Confidence. You are learning skills, not just receiving a service.
Bird
Autonomy. You can fly — and we are still here if you need to land.
Beyond the clinic
Outside of clinical practice, Annica is also an author and coach, exploring ideas about personal transformation, wholeness, and what it means to live well. This work is separate from her chiropractic practice and is not a regulated health service. You can learn more at truecapacity.coach.
